Overview:
As a Phlebotomist within a well-established clinical environment, you'll be the frontline in delivering exceptional patient care through precise blood collection and specimen handling. Your expertise will ensure that lab testing is supported by high-quality, accurately labeled samples, directly impacting diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities:

Perform safe, skillful venipuncture and capillary blood collection across diverse patient populations, including pediatric and geriatric clients.

Prepare collected specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring correct labeling and documentation in accordance with established protocols.

Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to maintain specimen integrity.

Explain procedures clearly and professionally to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence.

Maintain accurate records of all collected specimens, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and documentation.

Follow safety guidelines and infection control practices at all times to maintain a secure clinical environment.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors, attention to process excellence, and a commitment to confidentiality and accuracy in handling patient information.

Support the clinic or lab operations by working flexibly across multiple locations as requested, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality patient experiences.

Required Skills:

Minimum of 3 years of professional phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Proven proficiency in venipuncture and specimen collection with a track record of error-free work.

Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and specimen handling.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to clearly explain procedures and build rapport with patients.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, able to verify patient information meticulously.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining teamwork.

Comfort working in high-volume settings with multiple priorities.

Ability to adapt to flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.

Proficiency with keyboard/data entry and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record preferred, especially for travel across multiple locations.

Nice to Have Skills:

Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification preferred.

Medical assistant or paramedic training advantageous.

Bilingual abilities are a plus for enhanced patient communication.

Experience working in retail or customer service environments demonstrating strong patient-focused service.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

3+ years of phlebotomy experience, particularly in clinical or hospital settings, highly preferred.

Experience working within a Patient Service Center environment is a strong asset.

Other Requirements:

Must be able to reliably commute within a 20-25-minute radius of the worksite.

Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, with reliable transportation; rideshare or bus options are not considered dependable.

Must be punctual, dependable, and fully committed to scheduled shifts; excessive absenteeism or tardiness will lead to termination.

Ability to lift and position specimens, tolerate standing for prolonged periods, and perform physical tasks associated with blood collection.

Certifications and licensure as required by state regulations, particularly in California, Nevada, and Washington.
