No relocation assistance will be available.

Position Overview
Job Summary:
Training Support Services is responsible for the alignment of training across the enterprise. To ensure we are working in unison, Training Support Services partners with the Southern Company Training Council and its subcommittees to carry out the systemwide training model.
As a part of the Training Support Services department, the Consulting team provides comprehensive services to enhance performance and efficiency by connecting the business to all areas within the department. Upon request, the consultants collaborate with the business to develop tailored training programs, based on the needs of the organization or Training Council governance. A training program is a structured curriculum designed to enhance specific skills or knowledge. Our comprehensive approach outlines what will be taught, how it will be taught, and how it will be evaluated. Each training program consists of learning objectives, materials, and strategies designed to achieve specific training goals.
The Training Consultant – Program Development serves as a project manager, overseeing the development and implementation of the program’s scope as well as the project team. The consultant works with the subject matter experts from both the business and Training Support Services in the design, development, and implementation of the training programs. This role necessitates frequent interaction with individuals at all levels, requiring exceptional business acumen and superior interpersonal skills. An analytical mindset is imperative, as you will be responsible for compiling and presenting detailed updates, as well as identifying opportunities to enhance efficiencies within the training programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full life cycle of a training program’s development ensuring deliverables are defined, timelines are met, and status reports are provided to stakeholders, Training Support Services leadership, and Subcommittee partners.
Build a strong rapport with customers, utilizing consulting skills to determine needs and solutions for implementing comprehensive training programs that support the business and drive higher levels of employee performance.
Consult with all other areas within Training Support Services (Coordination, Instructional Design, Reporting, Testing) to identify the available resources to best support and ensure the development and implementation of effective training programs.
Collaborate with subject matter experts, team coordinators, and instructional designers to guide the development of customized training curriculum tailored to the specifics defined in the training needs analysis. (Please note, this position does not involve writing curriculum.)
Ensure training programs comply with the Training Council and Training Category Governance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Human Resources, Project Management or related field and/or equivalent job-related experience is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of project management experience with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
2 or more years of experience in consulting, communications, human resources, training and development or a related field.
Experience interacting across departments and/or organizations.
Ability to promote Training Support Services and System Training initiatives.
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively across all levels of the organization.
Strong time management, organizational and project management skills.
Ability to assess training needs and evaluate program effectiveness.
Capable of working autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Monday.com, and/or project management software is a plus.
Strong customer service skills.
Sound decision making.
Ability to promote change management
