$24.82 per hour starting pay as a recruit
$27.37 per hour after completion of APOST academy

Application Special Instructions

* Non-Certified candidate testing will be held 5.22.2026 at 8:00 am - APD building located at 100 11th Ave Southwest, Alabaster 35007 to include a Written Test (all candidates regardless of education background) takes a basic written test and must make a 70 or higher to progress to the Physical Agility Test on the same day. Closed toed shoes required.

* APOST adopted the Basic Abilities Test (Work Keys Assessment) for all candidates that do not hold an associate degree or higher .

-Non-Certified candidates that do not hold an associate degree or higher degree, must register at: Jeffstate.edu to sit for the work keys assessment prior to an offer of a position.
