Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong understanding of a variety of disabilities and learning differences
- Excellent communication skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage classroom behavior and foster a positive learning atmosphere
- Commitment to maintaining accurate records and compliance documentation
- Previous experience in a school setting is preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to meet the needs outlined in students' IEPs
- Regularly assess and document student progress to inform instruction and update goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student growth
- Adapt teaching materials and strategies to different learning abilities and styles
- Advocate for students’ academic, social, and emotional needs
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff training, and ongoing professional development
