Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for a Senior Targets Systems Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Directorate for Test (DT) Targets program office in the development of missile defense target vehicles.

• Support the Targets System Engineering team in all aspects of target design, analysis, and test, including requirements development and assessment, modeling and simulation, test analysis, and reporting.

• Work with weapon system teams to help ensure Target Specification and Requirement documents are correctly understood and flown to production teams.

• Ensure the development of Flight Test trajectories falls within the capabilities of the target system while fully testing the weapon system.

• Understand the real-world threat environment and how to utilize current and future test assets to create realistic test events to prove out the defensive systems.

• Work with the Flight Test teams to ensure target systems are developed and integrated in time to support the IMTP test needs.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in missile defense - related or other DoD programs/projects.

• Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, Java, C#, and other programming languages.

• Experience with telemetry systems, data acquisition, and analysis.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

• Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

• Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in STEM field (e.g., physics, engineering, math).

• Familiarity with MDA and/or DoD programs and processes.

• Experience MBSE tools.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to efficiently perform multiple tasks.

• Ability to communicate detailed technical information to technical and non-technical personnel.
