Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years NICU RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide specialized care as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at a well-established healthcare facility in Birmingham, AL. This contract opportunity involves delivering high-quality nursing care to neonates in a 32-bed NICU, maintaining a patient ratio of 3:1, and utilizing Cerner EMR systems. Candidates with a passion for neonatal intensive care and NICU experience will find this role both challenging and rewarding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates, following established NICU protocols
• Monitor, record, and assess patient conditions to ensure optimal health outcomes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Utilize Cerner EMR for accurate documentation and communication
• Float to other facilities within a 25-mile radius when required, within scope of practice
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety standards
• Follow designated dress code: navy blue scrubs and natural nails (no gel, acrylic, or embellishments)

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current RN licensure with at least 2 years NICU experience
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Ability to work night shifts: 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Willingness to float as needed within a 25-mile radius
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Schedule & Hours:

• 36 weekly guaranteed hours
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• No call responsibilities
