Principal Missile Defense System Requirements Engineer

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for a Principal Missile Defense System Requirements Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Support the implementation and execution of a disciplined systems engineering process to produce System-level technical documents necessary to establish the basis for MDA Program Office subsystem engineering.
• Provide support to the development, management, and planning for current and future missile defense capabilities.
• Provide senior-level support to the definition, management, and execution of requirements traceability; allocation of MDA Technical Core Standards adherence planning.
• Provide leadership of the MDA Engineering Requirements Group.
• Foster collaborative engineering technical interchanges across the MDA engineering community for requirements development.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Master’s degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 12+ years of experience.
• Technical expertise supporting government and contracting staff in systems and digital engineering.
• Experience in MBSE tools (CAMEO), principles, and methodologies for the development, requirements, design, and analysis of architectures in complex DoD projects.
• Experience in the development, management, and planning for current and future capabilities as they relate to missile defense, specifically related to the functional portion of the system.
• Experience in reviewing, analyzing, and providing recommendations on the development, addition, variances, and changes to functional requirements, as well as providing quality checks on technical documentation and products.
• Senior-level experience in document development, presentations, change requests, and other engineering products.
• Experience with interacting and supporting high-level government customers (Senior NH-4 director-level and above).
• Understanding of Industry/DoD engineering best practices, complemented by mature communication skills.
• Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications:

• INCOSE CSEP or ESEP certification.
• Previous MDA experience.
• Knowledge of MDA systems engineering processes.
• Knowledge of ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missile defense fundamentals.
