Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students in the Birmingham, Alabama area from August 7 through June 10. As an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist, you will work on-site with school-age children, helping them overcome challenges and reach their fullest potential in an educational setting. Assignments are tailored based on district needs and available locations, ensuring a dynamic and fulfilling experience.

Desired Background and Experience:

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from a regionally accredited institution
• Valid Professional Educator Certification
• Strong working knowledge of regulations and best practices serving children with disabilities and other regulated programs
• Familiarity with cognitive/physical development in pediatric and adolescent populations
• Understanding of medical and psychological assessment tools and terminology relevant to disabilities and learning differences
• Effective skills in data compilation and analysis, along with the ability to interpret relevant laws, policies, and procedures
• Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• ASHA Certification and ABSESPA Licensure considered a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct therapy and intervention for students in assigned schools
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans
• Assess and document student progress; collaborate closely with IEP teams
• Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines
• Communicate regularly with teachers, administrators, and families to support student growth
