About the Role:
The Activity Therapist Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing therapeutic activity programs within healthcare or residential care settings. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating engaging activities that promote the physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being of clients or residents. The manager leads a team of activity therapists and coordinators, ensuring that all programs meet regulatory standards and align with individualized care plans. By fostering a supportive and creative environment, the Activity Therapist Manager contributes to improving quality of life and patient satisfaction. Additionally, this role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to integrate therapeutic activities into comprehensive care strategies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Occupational Therapy, or a related field.
- Experience in activity therapy or recreational therapy, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic activity planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and standards applicable to therapeutic programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline.
- Experience working in long-term care, rehabilitation, or mental health settings.
- Advanced leadership training or certification.
- Experience in program development to secure funding for therapeutic activities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, and supervise therapeutic activity programs tailored to the needs of clients or residents.
- Manage and mentor a team of activity therapists and support staff, providing training and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and community resources to enhance program effectiveness and client engagement.
- Monitor program outcomes through data collection and analysis, making adjustments to improve service quality and client satisfaction.
