The Assembly Technician supports hands-on manufacturing operations in Childersburg, AL by assembling mechanical and electrical components according to established work instructions and production standards. Responsibilities- Assemble components, sub-assemblies, and mechanical systems according to written work instructions, blueprints, schematics, and production standards.
- Perform mechanical and electrical assembly tasks, including basic electrical wiring and control panel assembly, as required by the build instructions.
- Use hand tools, basic power tools, impact tools, and precision measuring instruments safely and correctly during assembly operations.
- Measure and verify parts and assemblies using tools such as tape measures and other measuring instruments to ensure proper fit and alignment.
- Perform final fit, torque, and testing procedures to confirm functionality and compliance with specifications.
- Conduct visual inspections and quality checks on parts, sub-assemblies, and finished products to identify defects or nonconformities.
- Follow torque specifications and use appropriate fastener types to ensure safe and reliable assemblies.
- Work on your feet throughout the shift in a production or assembly environment to support continuous manufacturing operations.
- Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality standards and adhering to safety requirements.
- Follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently to ensure reliable and repeatable assembly processes.
- Support lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices by following standardized work and contributing to process improvements when appropriate.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and equipment with care to support a safe and efficient production environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve assembly issues and ensure production schedules are met.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance, punctuality, and a willingness to learn new tasks and procedures as production needs evolve.
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical assembly or manufacturing.
- Proven experience in assembly, production, or manufacturing, or strong mechanical aptitude for hands-on work.
- Ability to assemble mechanical systems and subassemblies using blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
- Proficiency using hand tools and basic power tools safely and effectively in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with mechanical assembly, including the use of fasteners, torque specifications, and basic mechanical principles.
- Ability to perform basic electrical assembly and wiring tasks, including work on control panels, as required.
- Skill in using precision measuring instruments and tape measures to verify part dimensions and assembly accuracy.
- Ability to perform visual inspections and quality checks to identify defects and ensure compliance with standards.
- Capability to work on your feet for extended periods in a fast-paced production or assembly environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently.
- Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn new skills and procedures.
- Comfort working in a hands-on, team-based manufacturing setting.
- Experience with pneumatics, including assembly and basic troubleshooting of pneumatic components.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
- Basic knowledge of torque specifications and different fastener types and their appropriate applications.
- Experience with electrical wiring, electrical assembly, and control panel assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Comfort using impact tools, hand and power tools, and precision measuring equipment in a production environment.
- Interest in long-term, stable employment in a local manufacturing role in the Childersburg, AL area.

You will spend most of the day on your feet, working with mechanical and electrical assemblies using hand tools, power tools, impact tools, and precision measuring instruments. The schedule typically runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., providing a structured workweek with extended daily shifts. The environment is team-oriented and focused on meeting production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards, with processes influenced by lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
