1. To be a LEADER of church music, it will be important for this person to be a Christianwith a close, and growing, relationship with Jesus as their personal Savior. They should prayerfully allow the Holy Spirit to guide in both the selection and performance of all church music and be willing to pray, when asked, during a service.

soloist or group is allowed during Bible Study which begins at 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

4. Attend possible staff meeting (usually quarterly) to hear about and coordinate plans that might effect seasonal emphasis, music selection, relocating a service to the Christian Activity Center (CAC), and work around special decorations that need to occupy the choir loft, etc.
5. Be a person of good organizational skills to maximize good use of time for Choir Practice. Practice new songs several weeks for the choir to learn songs well before performance. Pull (or provide copies of) hymns for the service and have them on piano and organ benches before the service begins.
6. Hopefull, give copies of Orders of Service to the typist, the sound technician, and accompanists two weeks to one month in advance. 8. Be able to occasionally sing solos or with others in duets, trios, or quartets. Be able to give appropriate seques between hymns such as Scripture or any interesting background related to that song, etc.
9. Be able to read music notation, count correctly, and sing along with SATB parts in choir practice. Use clear directing motions for choir, congregation, and accompanists.
10. Encourage children’s music education and participation whenever possible. Our Sunday morning worship attendance is always better when the children sing special music or play the bells.
11. The Director’s actions (both inside and outside the church) are expected to always be of good moral character. Our insurance expects everyone working with children to be willing to have a background check. Supply a resume with references from past experiences that can be checked.
12. Salary is currently $420 bi-weekly (with fifth Sundays included in that amount). This does not include potentially adding children’s or youth choirs that might be formed in the future. Singing at weddings and funerals are nogotiated separately according to potential family requests.
13. Remember that you are always appreciated and are prayed for regularly.
