Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant in Birmingham, AL for the 2026-2027 academic year. Work directly within school environments, supporting students’ communication and learning needs, with assignments determined by district requirements. Multiple positions are available for dedicated professionals eager to make an impact onsite—remote options are not available.
Desired Qualifications:
- ASHA Certification and valid ABSESPA licensure required
- Must hold a Professional Educator Certification specific to Alabama
- All necessary credentialing for SLPA practice in Alabama, including fingerprint clearance
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Support licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in delivering therapy and interventions to students
- Assist in creating and implementing student-specific communication strategies and activities
- Document progress and report on student outcomes as required
- Participate in team meetings, Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, and progress discussions
- Communicate professionally with staff, students, and families
