Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Level 4 to support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program. We are excited for you to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. **Position Overview:**
The selected Systems Engineer - Level 4 responsibilities will include the support of the GWS program as an individual contributor & potentially a task lead. This requisition is for the A&D Verification & Test team and is responsible for producing products related to verification and test in support of the GWS contract execution.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/teams comprised of all experience levels.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Develop verification & test products to include but not limited to the following.
+ Verification test plans.
+ Verification rational.
+ Verification reports.
+ Other requirement products such as new requirements, both derived and system level.
+ Traceability analysis.
+ Document analysis results in reports and briefings for critique and review by stakeholders.
+ Create and present briefings within the team and to Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and supporting stakeholders.
+ The position is in Huntsville, AL.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 6 years of related experience, or 4 years of experience with a PhD.
+ Strong technical background in systems engineering and verification.
+ Applicant must demonstrate ability to think critically and capture concepts in papers, presentations, and discussions.
+ Applicant must possess good communication skills.
+ Must be capable of working both independently and within a team environment.
+ Experience with DOORS.
+ The successful candidate must also be willing to assume a technical leadership role.
+ Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
+ Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems.
+ Experience using JIRA.
+ Experience on GWS or GMD.
Primary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
