Paralegal
Position Purpose
The Paralegal – Compliance & Risk Management supports the organization’s compliance program by assisting with investigations, compliance hotline follow-up, litigation preparation, and regulatory documentation.
This position ensures that all compliance-related activities are documented, tracked, and maintained in a legally defensible manner while supporting Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
Compensation:
- Salary: $90,000 per year based on experience

Position:
- The Paralegal – Compliance & Risk Management supports the organization’s compliance program by assisting with investigations, compliance hotline follow-up, litigation preparation, and regulatory documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with coordination and tracking of compliance hotline concerns
- Organize investigation files and supporting documentation
- Ensure timely follow-up with facilities on investigations and corrective actions
- Prepare investigation summaries and reports
- Track regulatory reporting timelines
- Support litigation preparation and coordination with legal counsel
- Maintain legally defensible documentation
- Assist with survey readiness and Plans of Correction
- Maintain logs for compliance tracking and trending
- Support QAPI, Compliance Committee, and Governing Body reporting
- Assist with policy updates and training materials
- Ensure document retention and legal hold compliance
- Support multi-state regulatory tracking
- Travel to facilities for investigations, audits, and survey readiness
Additional Assigned Tasks
- Promotes resident rights and dignity
- Adheres to compliance and regulatory standards
- Maintains confidentiality (HIPAA)
- Reports noncompliance and abuse allegations
- Participates in emergency preparedness and infection control
- Completes required training
- Supports compliance documentation and reporting
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Healthcare Administration, or related field required
- Paralegal certification preferred
- 2–5 years of paralegal or legal support experience required
- Healthcare or skilled nursing experience preferred
- Knowledge of CMS regulations, HIPAA, and long-term care compliance preferred
