Electrical Technician

**Description** **SAIC** is seeking a **Junior Electrical Engineer** to join our team in **Huntsville, AL.** The selected candidate will be a member of a highly motivated team providing hardware/software development, integration, and test support to the Systems Simulation, Software, and Integration (S3I) Directorate. **Job Responsibilities:** + Activities will include support of development, testing, and integration of special purpose electronics and cabling of launch vehicles, communications platforms, and rocket systems. + Perform circuit design, analysis, simulation and component selection according to electrical/electronic hardware requirements + Perform initial build of prototype printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies + Build complex tactical cables with heat shrink jackets + Apply basic electronics engineering knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the following areas: + Cable/Harness Assembly to Class 3 + Prototype layout and assembly of boards + Assemble quick turn test assets. + Familiar with Circular military connectors, wire and PCB components + Support all lab functions including military vehicle testing, building test assets, class 3 tactical cables, and precision measurement **Qualifications** **Education Requirements:** + Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related and zero (0) years' experience; Four (4) years' of additional related work experience can be considered in lieu of degree. **Clearance Requirements:** + The candidate must possess a Secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain one; US Citizenship required. **Required Skills:** + **The candidate must have experience related in fabrication, repairing, and testing of electro-mechanical hardware (CCA's, wiring harnesses, cables, test fixtures, LRU's).** + Must have a solid understanding of Electronics Theory and applications plus an ability to read and understand schematics. + IPC and J-Standard certification a plus. + Must have experience with SMT and PTH soldering and operation of basic test equipment such as meters and oscilloscopes. + Experience with functional and environmental testing a plus. + Tactical Cable building. + Experience working with Microsoft Windows environment. + Must be self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision.
