Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87109 (New Mexico nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Labor & Delivery Unit (15 beds)
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Weekly Hours: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Weekend Requirement: 4-6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks
• Scrubs: Provided
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,090 - $2,140

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active NM or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
• Proficiency with electronic charting systems (EMR/EHR)
• Ability to float to similar clinical units as needed
• First-time travel nurses welcome to apply!

L&D RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a clinical setting
• Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulate for C-sections, and manage post-operative recovery
• Perform antepartum and triage assessments, sterile vaginal exams, and utilize external fetal monitoring (EFM)
• Administer medications including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, and insulin drips as required
• Maintain central lines (CVC/PICC) and follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record system
