Labor & Delivery RN Job Details
- Location: Albuquerque, NM 87109 (New Mexico nursing jobs)
- Healthcare Setting: Labor & Delivery Unit (15 beds)
- Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
- Start Date: September 8, 2025
- End Date: December 8, 2025
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
- Weekly Hours: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
- Weekend Requirement: 4-6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks
- Scrubs: Provided
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,090 - $2,140
- Active NM or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
- Proficiency with electronic charting systems (EMR/EHR)
- Ability to float to similar clinical units as needed
- First-time travel nurses welcome to apply!
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a clinical setting
- Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulate for C-sections, and manage post-operative recovery
- Perform antepartum and triage assessments, sterile vaginal exams, and utilize external fetal monitoring (EFM)
- Administer medications including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, and insulin drips as required
- Maintain central lines (CVC/PICC) and follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
- Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record system
