• Patient Demographics: Adults (general hematology/oncology).
• Patient Volume/Census: TBD
• Admissions: Yes
• Rounding: Yes (inpatient cancer floor)
• Phone Consults: Yes
• Case Mix: Hematology and oncology patients across full spectrum.

FACILITY INFORMATION:

• No. of Beds in Department: 420-bed hospital; 21 infusion rooms; dedicated inpatient oncology floors.
• Trauma Level: Level 2
• Office Equipment Available: Radiation therapy and infusion center onsite; certified oncology nurses; onsite fitness facility.
• Specialty Backup Available: Radiation Oncology, hospitalist support, radiology, pain management, neurosurgery.
• Support Staff Available: 3 board-certified Hem/Onc physicians, certified oncology nurses, multidisciplinary cancer team.
• Reason for Coverage: Practice expansion.

• Outpatient chemotherapy management.

• Hematologic evaluations and treatments.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Licenses: Must be licensed or eligible in Alabama.
• Certifications: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology.
• Experience: Fellowship trained in Hem/Onc.
• Other Qualifications: Team-oriented, able to work in collaborative environment; PSLF eligible.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care in a hospital-based cancer center.
• Participate in shared 1:4 call rotation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary cancer care team.
• Engage in both inpatient and outpatient care delivery.
• Participate in teaching and academic opportunities through affiliation with ACOM.
