Overview
We are seeking passionate and skilled Cooks to join our team at our Derailed diner in Robertsdale, AL. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service and a strong understanding of kitchen operations within a restaurant or food industry setting. This role is essential in delivering high-quality meals while ensuring adherence to food safety standards and dietary requirements. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Assist in menu planning, considering seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling practices.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other culinary tools.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely meal service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a food service or culinary role within a restaurant or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques and menu planning.
- Familiarity with food handling standards and safety regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in using various kitchen equipment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
