Environmental System Test Engineer III - Blue Ring

- Travel up to 25% required
- Assist in the planning, architecture, and coordination of the resources vital to execute the testing of integrated spacecraft for development and verification successfully.
- Coordinate with design engineer subject matter experts across each affected system under test to integrate the identified system verification requirements into the detailed test plan for the development risk reduction and/or verification run for record event as appropriate.
- Conduct test design reviews, integration readiness reviews, and test readiness reviews for your events.
- Identify, communicate, and mitigate cost, schedule, and technical risks.
- Proven track record of working with test, flight, and safety-critical hardware, tools, and shop equipment.
- Previous experience with spacecraft/satellite environmental test development and/or execution, hardware ownership (responsible engineer), or hardware qualification and/or acceptance testing.
- B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related technical subject area.
- Direct experience developing test infrastructure, integrating the test articles, and testing major assembly spacecraft test articles with an emphasis on mechanical systems.
- Hands-on testing experience in thermal, vibration and/or acoustic, shock, and vacuum testing of flight hardware in accordance with MIL-STD-810, SMC-S-016, and MIL-STD-1540.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, standards, and technical requirements.
- Ability to perform data analysis and reduction and present technical information in a clear and compelling visual format.
- Instrumentation, controls, and data acquisition systems experience
- Strong safety demeanor and experience, including hands-on experience planning and conducting hazardous or critical operations.
- Ability to earn trust and maintain positive and professional relationships.
- Hands-on test and production facility, factory, or laboratory experience.
- Experience developing test campaigns for Acoustic testing, Thermal Vacuum Testing, Electro-Magnetics Interference Testing, and Modal Testing
- Experience installing removable/permanent test instrumentation on spaceflight hardware
- Experience with requirements development/management tools; DOORS, DOORS Next Gen, and lifecycle management (PLM) and/or data, Windchill.
- Experience with 3D modeling tools, analytical tools, and/or scripting tools: CREO, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, C++
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining test scripts
- Ability to obtain a Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance if requested

- Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
