About the Role:

The Hospital Business Office Director at Bibb Medical Center (BMC) plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the financial operations and administrative functions of the hospital's business office. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of provider and facility billing, revenue cycle management, and compliance with healthcare regulations. The director will lead a team to optimize financial performance while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational integrity.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum of Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred; or six months minimum experience and/or training in Hospital Business Office.
• Strong knowledge of medical billing and healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid compliance requirements.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and driving operational improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification such as Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCP) or Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP).
• Experience working in a hospital or healthcare system billing environment.
• Proficiency with healthcare financial software.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise billing staff for Bibb Medical Center and Bibb Medical Associates, as well as clerical and registration positions.
• Responsible for admissions, insurance filing, charge posting, verification, and collections.
• Interview, hire, and train employees as positions become open within the department to maintain high levels of customer service.
• Responsible for departmental payroll.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with healthcare laws, regulations, and payer requirements.
• Review workflow and job duties of staff to make appropriate changes as needed to increase efficiency.
• Oversee the entire revenue cycle process, ensuring timely and accurate patient billing and reimbursement.
• Analyze financial data and prepare reports for Chief Financial Officer and other senior leadership team.
• Manage relationships with insurance companies, government payers, and third-party vendors to resolve billing issues.
