Technical Sales
:
1. Overview
1.1. As a Technical Sales Rep at ASI, you will play a pivotal role in identifying opportunities, communicating solutions, and driving revenue through strong customer relationships. You will work alongside a talented team of engineers and support staff to offer cutting-edge automation, robotic integration, controls retrofit solutions, and service support to clients across a wide range of industries
1.2. The idea candidate will be self-motivated and capable of working within a team as well as independently and will be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. They will enjoy solving real-world manufacturing challenges and want to be part of a team that is changing how the industry works.
2. Key Responsibilities
2.1. Collaboration
2.1.1. Report directly to the Sales Manager.
2.1.2. Take direction and tasks from others on the ASI management and admin teams as needed for specific tasks
2.1.3. Work closely with marketing and business development to align outreach efforts with target markets.
2.1.4. Collaborate with applications engineers, controls engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers to develop custom tailored solutions.
2.1.5. Communicate and direct technicians and engineers to drive and support sales tasks and assignments. This includes reviewing their work to ensure that documentation and concepts are generated accurately and efficiently and on time.
2.1.6. Interact with customers, vendors, and suppliers regularly to support sales and quoting needs.
2.2. Technical Sales
2.2.1. Engage with new and existing customers to uncover automation, integration, and service opportunities.
2.2.2. Lead discovery meetings and site visits to fully understand customer needs and project requirements.
2.2.3. Deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and technical discussions to decision makers at all levels.
2.2.4. Maintain CRM records, track opportunity progress, and follow up on leads in a timely manner.
2.2.5. Support quoting efforts by gathering relevant data, defining scope, and coordinating with engineering teams.
2.2.6. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings.
2.2.7. Participate in conceptual, automated system design.
3. Requirements
3.1. Education
3.1.1. Bachelor's degree in engineering. Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
3.2. Experience
3.2.1. 1+ years of experience with 3D CAD software. Autodesk Inventor is preferred.
3.2.2. Prior experience in technical sales, industrial automation, or other engineering services is preferred.
3.2.3. Proficiency with CRM software and structured sales processes is a plus.
3.3. Skills
3.3.1. Self-motivated, well organized, and confident.
3.3.2. Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills including strong interpersonal and relationship building abilities.
3.3.3. Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
3.3.4. Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude with the ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts.
3.3.5. Must be capable of managing multiple leads and tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.
3.3.6. Must be able to travel to work at customer facilities as necessary.
3.3.7. Possess and maintain a clean driving record and valid US driver's license.
4. Reporting Structure
4.1. Reports to the Sales Manager.
4.2. Will take tasks and responsibilities from other managers and engineers as needed.

6. Work Environment
6.1. Full-time, on-site position at ASI's office in Birmingham, AL.
6.2. Travel as necessary; generally day travel but overnight stays on occasion.

8. Compensation
8.1. Total Compensation Range: $55,000 to $110,000 annually. This will be split between a base salary and compensation associated with sales levels.
