Job Title: Data Acquisition and Controls Engineer

Department: Test Lab

POSITION SUMMARY:

To conduct and document tests as well as operate and maintain all controls or data acquisition equipment in the field and in the lab. Duties include conducting tests, writing technical reports, installing equipment on a variety of refuse vehicles, developing test procedures and work instructions concerning data acquisition and controls.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
  • Able to install different transducers, sensors, and strain gages.
  • Collects and interprets test data.
  • Operates electronic instrumentation in multiple configurations with multiple software.
  • Able to adapt to ever changing tasks.
  • Performs post process analysis of data received from the acquisition equipment.
  • Willingness to learn advanced measurement techniques and evaluate other techniques not currently used.
  • Develops controls for automated test equipment, including hardware and PLC logic.
  • Travel up to approximately 15%.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Patience to evaluate multiple solutions to problems.
  • Advanced computer skills, the development in advanced instrumentation knowledge, and the aptitude for learning are required.
  • Ladder Logic and Structured text coding experience is required.
  • Travel up to approximately 15%.
