Gulfstream Logistic Services is seeking a full-time Diesel Mechanic Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks, Flatbed Trailers and trailer mounted forklifts as well as agricultural equipment. We are seeking a dedicated, hardworking individual to fulfill the role as a Diesel Mechanic Technician.

Duties:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks, flatbed trailers and truck mounted forklifts.
• Conduct and maintain preventive maintenance programs on trucks, trailers and forklifts.
• Perform Annual Inspections on Clas 8 trucks and flatbed trailers in accordance with DOT Regulations.
• Diagnose and make necessary repairs on driveline components, brake systems, suspension systems, wheels, tires and electrical and hydraulic systems on trucks, trailers and forklifts.
• Generate work orders, recording all hours and parts used in the completion of work performed.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area and perform work in a safe and orderly manner.
• Maintain all necessary report logs required in conjunction with work assignments.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments

Skills:

• Experience in breaking down, repairing and changing tires on Class 8 trucks and trailers.
• Ability to perform periodic maintenance on class 8 trucks, changing oil and fluids and installing filters to specifications.
• Knowledge of air brake systems and the components associated with the functions of the system.
• General knowledge of diesel engines, A/C components as well as electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnosing problems quickly and efficiently
• Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession
• Experience with welding and hydraulics are a plus
• Efficient time management skills

Requirements:

• Must possess your own tools.
• Trade school certification is preferred in mechanics.
• 2+ years’ General Experience trucks and trailers is desired.
• Capable of lifting heavy objects.
• Physically capable of bending, climbing, squatting, crawling as required while performing repairs on various equipment.
