Spur, a digital staffing agency, is seeking dedicated and punctual Special Education Paraprofessionals to support Marshall County Schools. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to assisting special needs students alongside teachers and staff.
Position Overview
As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs, ensuring they receive the guidance and assistance necessary for academic and personal growth. This position requires professionalism, adaptability, and a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist students individually or in group settings with classroom assignments.
- Provide support to teachers and staff in day-to-day activities.
- Escort or supervise students during school activities, ensuring safety and engagement.
- Adapt to students' varying behavioral and educational needs.
- Support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as needed.
- Assist with enrichment, remediation, and student progress evaluations.
- Promote positive interactions and participation in classroom activities.
- Maintain professionalism and adhere to school and Spur guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience working with children in an educational or caregiving setting.
- Familiarity with IEPs is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to lift up to 65 lbs, as some students may require physical assistance.
- Ability to complete Marshall County Schools (MCS) training (provided at no cost).
- Must pass a State of Alabama Background Check ($48.00 fee).
- Completion of required online training prior to starting.
- Business casual attire required.

Compensation & Schedule
- Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM (varies by location)
- Work Period: Follows the school calendar when classes are in session
