Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) awarded from an accredited college or university
- Valid Alabama Professional Certificate
- Full compliance with Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state criteria
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Previous teaching experience in Special Education (self-contained or resource preferred)
- Strong knowledge of differentiated instructional strategies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Proven classroom management skills in diverse settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and interventions to students with a variety of learning needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in alignment with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and multi-disciplinary teams
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom atmosphere focused on student success
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development
