Job Title: General Construction/Warehouse Laborer
Job Description

This role supports daily operations in an industrial warehouse environment by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized facility while performing a variety of general labor tasks. You will assist with plant clean-up, material handling, and basic inventory activities to ensure smooth and efficient workflow throughout the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general plant clean-up to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Clean and maintain work areas, equipment, and common spaces to support overall plant cleanliness.
  • Assist with inventory counting and basic material tracking to ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Load and unload trucks manually and with forklift assistance when authorized and trained.
  • Move, stage, and handle barrels and other industrial materials safely throughout the facility.
  • Support various general labor tasks as assigned by supervisors to meet operational needs.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, guidelines, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements at all times.
  • Handle materials and equipment in a safe manner to prevent accidents and maintain a safe workplace.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate daily tasks and priorities.
  • Manage time efficiently to complete assigned tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adapt to changing duties and priorities in a non-climate-controlled industrial setting.

  • Ability to perform manual labor in a fast-paced industrial or warehouse setting.
  • Capability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions within a non-climate-controlled facility.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and consistent attendance.
  • Attention to cleanliness, organization, and maintaining a safe work area.
  • Basic inventory and counting skills for tracking materials and stock.
  • Safe material handling skills, especially when working with barrels and industrial materials.
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and PPE requirements at all times.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet daily operational needs.
  • Ownership of or ability to obtain steel-toe boots, as they are required for the role.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Forklift experience or previous forklift operation in an industrial or warehouse setting (preferred but not required).
  • Willingness to learn forklift operation if training is provided.
  • Experience in general labor, production, packaging, cleaning, or painting is beneficial.
  • Adaptability and comfort working in a warehouse environment with changing tasks and priorities.
  • Interest in developing hands-on skills in an industrial plant setting.

Work Environment

You will work in a warehouse-based, non-climate-controlled industrial environment that can be physically demanding. The role requires frequent lifting, bending, carrying, and standing for extended periods throughout the shift. You will handle barrels, materials, and equipment in a busy, fast-paced setting where safety and cleanliness are top priorities. Steel-toe boots are required as part of the standard dress code, and you will use appropriate personal protective equipment as needed for tasks. The environment offers hands-on exposure to industrial operations, material handling, and general plant activities, with an emphasis on teamwork, safety, and consistent workflow.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Birmingham, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
