Snelling is searching for a mid-level Welder with stainless experience for a well-established company in the Trussville, AL area. The pay rate for this position is $22.00-30.00/hr. 1st shift, 6:00 am-3:30 pm with some overtime. Apply Today with Confidence!

Key Tasks and Responsibilities –

• Responsible for setting appropriate welding machine parameters for material being welded.
• Responsible for making welds to meet print specifications.
• Responsible for producing strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous, and consistent.
• Follows required procedures and uses appropriate fixtures to assist in the assembly process.
• Basic operation of robotic weld cell as assigned.
• Verifies conformance of finished part to print specifications and quality standards.
• Responsible for properly using and maintaining tools, fixtures and machines.
• Responsible for keeping work area clean and orderly.

Skills and Attributes –

• Knowledge of welding processes and equipment.
• Ability to weld vertically, flat, and overhead with good penetration and a quality weld.
• Ability to operate acetylene torches.
• Math skills include metric system and angles.
• Ability to read tape measures and angle finders.
• Ability to read blueprint drawings and AWS weld symbols.
• Ability to operate forklift and overhead cranes.
• Physical ability to weld in awkward positions such as kneeling or lying down.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Experience Requirements –

Vocational school training and three years’ welding experience in related field.
