Machinist I - Night Shift

**********This position will work from 4:00 pm - 2:30 am Monday - Thursday with 10% shift differential.************
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Candidate will produce parts using standard machining processes.
DUTIES
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and precision measurement instruments.
- Fabricate assemblies or subassemblies using machine tools such as saws, lathes, milling machines, shapers and grinders.
- Measure and examine complete products to ensure product meets drawing and customer requirements.
- Make adjustments of a minor nature on basic machine tools. Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments and materials onto machines.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Evaluate the machining process to ensure that the area is clear of all potential hazards.
- Ensure all PPE is in place prior to beginning the machining process.
- Other Duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or equivalent and trade school diploma in Machining/Machining Science.
- 0 to 3 years work history.
- Capable of controlling the operations of equipment or systems used to produce machined products.
- Monitoring of gauges, dials and/or other indicators to ensure proper machine operations.
- Capable of using mathematics to solve problems.
- The ability to select the right tool for the job.
- Capable of producing product from engineering drawing.
- Experienced in the use of precision measurement instruments.
- Basic knowledge of raw materials used in the machining industry.
- Ability to inspect work area for any potential safety hazards prior to beginning operations.

- Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces and sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.
- On occasion must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Works in a manufacturing environment.
