Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 school in Vance, Alabama is seeking a dedicated Counselor to support the social, emotional, and academic development of students. This contractual position plays a vital role in fostering a positive school environment by providing guidance, counseling services, and student advocacy across all grade levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing academic, social, and emotional challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop intervention strategies for student success.
• Conduct student assessments and develop tailored support plans.
• Facilitate workshops on topics such as bullying prevention, conflict resolution, and career readiness.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of student information.
• Coordinate referrals to external agencies and resources as needed.

Qualifications:

• Relevant degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
• Valid counseling certification or licensure as required by state regulations.
• Experience working in a K-12 school setting preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
• Knowledge of counseling best practices and current educational policies.
