Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An established mail order pharmacy in Alabama is seeking a qualified Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead and ensure regulatory compliance across operations. This contract role requires a proactive individual with a comprehensive understanding of state and federal pharmacy laws and mail order pharmacy procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure adherence to all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations in Illinois and Alabama.
• Oversee pharmacy policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality assurance programs.
• Monitor medication dispensing accuracy and patient safety within mail order processes.
• Maintain and document Illinois PIC compliance requirements and reporting.
• Supervise pharmacy personnel involved in mail order fulfillment activities.
• Manage controlled substance oversight including DEA recordkeeping and compliance.
• Prepare for and respond to audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective actions.
• Ensure proper medication storage, handling, packaging, and shipment.
• Review and approve updates to SOPs, compliance logs, and regulatory documents.
• Serve as primary contact for state pharmacy boards, accreditation agencies, and auditors.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active pharmacist licenses in Illinois and Alabama (mandatory).
• Additional licenses in Tennessee or Georgia are advantageous but not required.
• Prior experience as a Pharmacist in Charge or in pharmacy leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of mail order pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently with responsibility for regulatory oversight.
• Comfortable managing duties within approximately 8 hours per week with flexible scheduling.

Location:

• This position is based in Alabama and involves oversight of a mail order pharmacy serving multiple states.

Schedule:

• Approximately 8 hours per week, with flexible timing to meet all PIC obligations.
