ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST $20-$25 HR
PRATTVILLE AREA – Construction Industry Supplier

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing construction supply company. This role is responsible for processing high-volume invoices, managing vendor accounts, reconciling statements, and ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the importance of accuracy, deadlines, and strong vendor relationships within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and code vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
• Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices
• Review and reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
• Maintain organized AP files and supporting documentation
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and account inquiries
• Assist with month-end closing and account reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
• Track sales tax, lien waivers, and construction-related documentation as needed
• Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, and project management teams to resolve invoice issues
• Support audits and financial reporting requests

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or building materials industry
• Experience handling high-volume invoice processing
• Knowledge of purchase orders, vendor management, and job costing preferred
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems such as Sage, Viewpoint, QuickBooks, Foundation, or NetSuite
• Understanding of construction terminology and supplier invoicing practices
• Experience working with subcontractors, freight invoices, or inventory-related accounting
