Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer who is proficient in designing for manufacturing (DFM). The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing assembly, subassembly, parts, weldments, and piping systems models, as well as design and shop drawings. A solid understanding of GD&T, ASME Y14.100 Drawing Standards, and PDM is required. Candidates with experience in creating products that have been carried through the manufacturing process will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop 3D models using SolidWorks for mechanical components.
• Prepare detailed assembly, subassembly, part, weldment, and piping system models.
• Create design and shop drawings following GD&T and ASME Y14.100 Drawing Standards.
• Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to carry products from design through manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and drafting.
• Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.100 Drawing Standards.
• Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
• Experience supporting nuclear projects is a plus

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Huntsville, AL.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Huntsville,AL.
