Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A mail order pharmacy located in Alabama is seeking an experienced Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to oversee their pharmacy operations. This contract position requires an active pharmacist license in both Illinois and Alabama, as these licenses will govern PIC responsibilities. Candidates with additional licenses in Tennessee or Georgia are considered a plus.

Schedule:

• Approximately 8 hours per week
• Flexible timing as long as all PIC duties are fulfilled

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure full compliance with all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
• Oversee pharmacy policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality assurance programs
• Monitor medication dispensing accuracy, patient safety, and daily workflow processes
• Maintain Illinois PIC compliance, including required documentation and reporting
• Supervise pharmacy personnel involved in mail order fulfillment
• Manage controlled substance oversight, including DEA recordkeeping and reporting
• Prepare for and respond to audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective action plans
• Ensure proper storage, handling, packaging, and shipment of medications
• Review and approve updates to SOPs, compliance logs, and regulatory documentation
• Serve as the primary liaison for state boards, accreditation bodies, and auditors

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active pharmacist licenses in Illinois and Alabama (mandatory)
• Prior experience serving as a Pharmacist in Charge or in pharmacy leadership roles
• Strong understanding of mail order pharmacy regulations and fulfillment workflows
• Ability to work independently and maintain strict regulatory oversight within a limited-hours schedule
