A mail order pharmacy located in Alabama is seeking a qualified Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead and ensure regulatory compliance for their operations. This contract position requires an active pharmacist license in both Illinois and Alabama, as these govern the PIC responsibilities. The role offers flexibility with an estimated commitment of approximately 8 hours per week, allowing for a schedule that fits your availability while meeting all PIC duties.

Location: Alabama (Mail Order Pharmacy)
Schedule:

• Flexible hours to fulfill all responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
• Oversee pharmacy policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality assurance programs
• Maintain accuracy in medication dispensing and prioritize patient safety
• Manage Illinois PIC compliance including documentation and reporting requirements
• Supervise pharmacy personnel involved in mail order fulfillment processes
• Oversee controlled substance management, including DEA recordkeeping and reporting
• Prepare for audits, inspections, and develop corrective action plans as needed
• Ensure proper storage, handling, packaging, and shipping of medications
• Review and approve SOP updates, compliance logs, and regulatory paperwork
• Serve as the primary liaison with state boards, accreditation representatives, and auditors

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active pharmacist licenses for Illinois and Alabama (mandatory)
• Additional licenses in Tennessee or Georgia are a plus but not required
• Proven experience as a Pharmacist in Charge or in a pharmacy leadership role
• In-depth knowledge of mail order pharmacy operations and regulatory requirements
• Ability to manage independent oversight with a flexible, part-time schedule
