Systems Engineer (Modeling and Simulation)

Onsite in Huntsville, AL | Schedule: 9x80

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000

Systems Engineer to support the development of the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA's) Ground-Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) program on the GWS program

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy software products that support automated test and verification efforts
• Contribute to software development activities across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements, design, development, integration, testing, and deployment
• Partner with product teams to develop technical solutions that support program objectives
• Support Agile development activities and participate in team execution using collaboration and configuration management tools

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
• Active Secret Clearance required
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution and 5+ years of experience
• Experience estimating planning and scheduling Algorithm development and Analysis work for a technical team
• Recent and extensive MATLAB and Python Experience/proficiency
• Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn and absorb new concepts
• Proven experience in developing, prototyping and evaluating complex algorithms
• Extensive background in mathematics or science
• Must be able to support an in-person/closed-area work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with the Missile Defense Agency's Ground Based Mid Course Defense program
• Advanced degree in Mathematics or Physics
• Extensive experience leading trade studies or root cause analysis against any of the following: simulation frameworks, threat models, or command and control models
• Experience with planning/scheduling algorithms
• Experience with sensor modeling, communication modeling, and/or missile modeling
• Battle Management or Fire Control experience
• Experienced with Linux, scripting, and operations
