We are looking for a highly motivated CMA to provide patient care to our ENT/Allergy patients. The position of Medical Assistant functions as the primary clinical support to physicians and patients who are seen, served, and treated by our ENT/Allergy providers. The Medical Assistant is responsible for a myriad of clinical duties and responsibilities as outlined below. On occasion, the Medical Assistant may also be asked to perform non-clinical responsibilities to ensure continuity of operations throughout our office. The candidate must have completed and graduated from a recognized Medical Assistant educational training course or have acquired qualifying skills, and have through medical/clinical work experience.
Responsibilities:
- Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; assisting physicians and nurse practitioners with day to day office appointments.
- Ensuring exam rooms are patient ready; stock exam rooms as necessary.
- Verifies patient information with patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
- Administer allergy testing
- Administering allergy injections
- Make allergy vials
- Washing and sterilizing instruments
- Making/fielding nurse calls for patients
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential.
- Other duties as needed to support patient care
Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
- Certified Medical Assistant
- 2+ years of medical assistant experience
- Previous ENT/Allergy or Surgical Subspecialty experience
- Has a positive attitude and works well with others
