CNC Machinist Apprentice

**Description** Leidos Mechanical Manufacturing is seeking a **CNC Machinist Apprentice** to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. Apprentices will learn the following skill sets during the program: + Part Layout prior to machining + Setup and operate manual milling machines. + Setup and operate manual lathe machines. + Setup and program, operate CNC Mill and Lathes + Conduct general housekeeping and maintenance. Primary Responsibilities: Leidos Mechanical Manufacturing Apprenticeship is a competency-based program. During the apprenticeship, the apprentice shall receive work experience and job-related education in all phases of the occupation, including safe work practices, necessary to develop the skill and proficiency of a skilled professional. + The term of the apprenticeship is 36 competencies, supplemented by the 1,530 total hours of related instruction, resulting in 2 MTT certificates. + Apprentices will attend college work instruction during Non-Work/Non-Paid Hours. Tuition and books are covered by Dynetics last-dollar scholarship. + Apprentices shall be paid a progressively increasing schedule of wages as apprentices attainproficiency in competencies. + Completion of program is 2 years or less based on competencycompletions. Basic Qualifications: + Applicant must have a high school diploma, General Education Development (GED) equivalency. + In addition to the apprenticeship application, applicants must complete an application to the Community College training provider and be granted admission into the training program. + Ability to understand and carry out general instructions. + Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. + Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.
