Electrical Engineer

OASYS, INC ., a Leading-Edge Government contractor in Huntsville Alabama, is seeking a Electrical Engineer to support our Army customer in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities include: The Mid-level to Sr. Electrical Engineer will join our multidisciplinary team developing advanced Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) and related ground support technologies. This role involves leading non-routine engineering assignments, supporting design and testing of UAS and GCS systems, and contributing to rapid prototyping, integration, and field testing in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep electrical engineering expertise, hands-on prototyping skills, and strong systems integration experience.

• Lead and contribute to rapid prototyping, design, testing, and documentation of UAS multirotor systems and ground support equipment.
• Apply engineering principles to design, fabricate, and test UAS platforms.
• Troubleshoot and optimize flight control, communication, and electrical system
• Perform on interdisciplinary teams, collaborating with mechanical, software, and systems engineers.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation: wiring diagrams, schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings, test reports, and validation plans.
• Support electronics design and production efforts in coordination with internal teams and external customers.
• Field testing and demo support.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of electrical engineering experience OR, 6+ years relative experience in electrical engineering.
• Strong competency in:

• • Circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout, fabrication, and procurement.
  • PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Professional).
  • Electronics troubleshooting, repair, and reverse engineering.
  • Use of lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, DVMs, spectrum analyzers, VNAs).Object Oriented design methods and practices, including writing unit tests
• Proficiency in data communication protocols (RS-232, CAN, SPI, UART, etc.).
• Ability to operate with professionalism and efficiency in a fast-paced, design-to-field environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with UAS/sUAS electronics systems design.
• Background with RTOS-based embedded systems.
• Competency in RF systems design.
• Experience with SolidWorks PDM for 3D design and configuration management.
• Experience in electronic packaging and thermal management for prototype and flight
• hardware.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting flight control, communication, and electrical
• architectures of UAS.

Required Education: Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Cyber, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other STEM discipline however, years of experience may be substituted for a degree.

Eligibility: Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance. An Active Secret Clearance is highly desired.
