We are seeking an experienced and dynamic VP of Media to lead and align our sales and marketing efforts for our Media business vertical. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market reach, promoting positive customer experience, and ensuring Baron Weather’s continued success as an industry leader.
Role Overview
As the VP of Media, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive media revenue strategy, overseeing all media sales activity, and fostering collaboration across the organization. You will identify and embrace opportunities to scale revenue streams across an increasingly diverse media ecosystem, build strategic partnerships, maintain and enhance broadcast group relationships, and enhance customer engagement. You must be able to easily adapt from focusing on strategic actions to being hands on during each day.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Strategy Development
- Develop and implement a revenue growth strategy for Baron’s Media business vertical.
- Identify emerging market trends, new product opportunities, and innovative business models to drive growth in domestic and international markets.
- Collaborate with the management team to align revenue goals with the company’s long-term vision.
Sales Leadership
- Lead and scale a high-performing, customer-focused sales team to achieve revenue targets.
- Develop sales processes that promote accountability and performance.
- Build and nurture relationships with key customers, media groups, partners, and industry stakeholders to secure strategic deals and partnerships.
- Work with the marketing team to create and execute data-driven campaigns that drive lead generation and brand awareness.
- Utilize competitive intelligence and market insights to refine Baron Weather’s go-to-market strategy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Engage with product development teams to align product offerings with market needs.
- Work with customer success teams to ensure client satisfaction, retention, and opportunities to increase sales.
- Foster collaboration between sales, marketing, and other departments to create a seamless customer experience.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Leverage CRM tools and analytics to measure sales and marketing performance.
- Provide regular reporting and actionable insights to the executive team on revenue trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Adjust strategies, tactics, and pricing models based on data-driven feedback and market dynamics.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of broadcast and digital media sales management experience is required.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and scaling sales and marketing functions.
- Experience working in weather data or technology sectors is highly desirable.
- A network that consists of US media executives is desirable.
- Demonstrated success leading winning sales teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to identify growth opportunities in competitive markets.
- A dynamic personality with exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills is paramount.
- Experience with managing remote reports is essential.
- Experience with CRM platforms, sales analytics tools, and marketing automation systems.
