Job Summary

B&A is looking for a Logistics Engineer to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. The Logistics Engineer is responsible for analyzing, planning, and implementing logistics support solutions to ensure efficient lifecycle sustainment of complex systems and equipment. This role integrates engineering principles with logistics practices to optimize provisioning, maintenance planning, supply chain support, and technical documentation in alignment with U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement logistics support strategies that address the full system lifecycle, from acquisition through sustainment and disposal.
  • Conduct Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) to determine the most cost-effective maintenance approach and recommend repair vs. replace decisions.
  • Support development of maintenance concepts, including Operator, Field/Unit, and Depot-level sustainment planning.
  • Prepare and deliver provisioning documentation, including:
  • Provisioning Parts Lists (PPL)
  • Long Lead Time Items List (LLTIL)
  • Tools and Test Equipment List (TTEL)
  • Common and Bulk Items List (CBIL)
  • Identify provisioning and pre-procurement screening data to optimize the use of existing assets and National Stock Numbers (NSNs).
  • Support Provisioning Guidance and Provisioning Conferences with government stakeholders.
  • Perform Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) assessments to identify sustainment risks.
  • Provide forecasting and recommendations for obsolescence mitigation, including redesigns, replacements, or alternate sourcing.
  • Develop and maintain Engineering Data for Provisioning (EDFP) to support asset cataloging, maintenance, and supply chain requirements.
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of technical manuals, repair parts lists, and configuration documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GEIA-STD-0007, MIL-HDBK-502, and other applicable standards.
  • Deliver As-Built Configuration Lists for complex systems to provide accurate baselines for sustainment and logistics planning.
  • Support Item Unique Identification (IUID) requirements for asset marking, registry entry, and lifecycle traceability.
  • Work with engineering, supply chain, and program management teams to ensure logistics solutions align with system design and mission requirements.
  • Prepare reports, analyses, and recommendations for leadership and government stakeholders.
  • Participate in logistics reviews, conferences, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics engineering, integrated product support, or lifecycle sustainment.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of provisioning, configuration management, and maintenance planning.
  • Experience with LORA, DMSMS analysis, and logistics product data development.
  • Familiarity with DoD logistics standards, asset management systems, and technical documentation practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Logistician (CPL), DAU Logistics Certification, or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE).
  • Experience working with U.S. Marine Corps, DoD programs, or defense contractors.
  • Knowledge of Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS), DFARS, and IUID registry requirements.

Security Clearance

  • Active Secret clearance.
