Job Summary:
The Spa Manager will oversee all aspects of the spa's daily operations, manage a team of spa professionals, and maintain the highest standards of service excellence.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees applicant interviews, hiring, and staff introduction/orientation. Oversee departmental training. Make hiring decisions for all direct reports.
- Educates staff on ways to upsell the services and products offered at the spa.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supports company objectives and assists with preparation of the annual Spa budget.
- Monitor spa performance through guest satisfaction analysis and financial reports.
- Controls revenues and expenses to meet or exceed the annual operating budget.
- Prepares and shares spa reports with leadership weekly and periodically.
- Works with the Marketing team and General Manager to create and maintain short and long-term promotional campaigns and marketing programs.
- Works with Talent, Learning, and culture to ensure employee motivation, training, and compliance.
- Establishes and communicates performance expectations for spa staff.
- Investigate and follow up on incidents, ensuring corrective measures are implemented.
- Manages supply inventories and equipment maintenance.
- Maintains security measures for the spa and oversees two-way communication systems.
- Establishes and supports shared service relationships with hotel leaders.
- Maintains business relationships with key clients, industry representatives, and stakeholders.
- Oversee the spa membership program and member relations.
- Directs and coordinates spa production, pricing, sales, and distribution activities.
- Reviews financial statements and performance data to measure productivity and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepares staff work schedules and assigns specific duties.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in regional and national spa services.
- Oversees planning for skin care/make-up/product concepts for quality treatments and retail potential.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Ability to handle guest incidents effectively and ensure a positive experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of spa operations including treatment protocols, standard processes and service standards.
- In-depth knowledge of spa facility and equipment management, including inventory control.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a Spa Supervisory role.
- A minimum of three years of leadership experience in the spa or hospitality field is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move around the spa facility, including walking and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to type, handle paperwork, and operate office equipment.
- Ability to lift or carry light objects, such as paperwork or office supplies.
