We are currently searching for an experienced Backend Software Developer to support our Corporate IT Group located in Mobile, AL .

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, 3 years of software development experience.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design and develop scalable and efficient software applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software solutions
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of software quality
• Develop and maintain high-quality documentation
• Identify and address technical issues promptly
• Work closely with project managers to ensure timely delivery of projects
• Provide training and support to junior team members
• Assist in the implementation of new software tools and technologies
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

What you need to have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of experience in software development
• Strong understanding of programming languages such as ASP.NET, .NET Core (C#), Node.js, Express.js
• Experience with agile methodologies and version control systems
• Proficiency in database design and development
• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and containerization
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
• If applicable to the position, a post offer fit for duty evaluation to ensure the individual can safely perform the essential functions of the role
• Valid driver’s license
• A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
