Job Summary
Conecuh County Schools , located in the close-knit community of Evergreen, Alabama , is seeking a dynamic Director of Dining Services to lead our new food service partnership across six schools serving approximately 1,100 students. Overseeing a team of 14 frontline associates , this leader will be responsible for delivering high-quality, nutritious meals while creating a welcoming dining experience that reflects the values of the community. We're looking for someone with strong culinary experience who appreciates the importance of home-cooked, comfort-style meals and can bring creativity and passion to the program.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with proven people-management skills and a talent for building strong relationships with school administrators, staff, and the community. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by developing a strong team, enhancing student participation, and supporting occasional catering events throughout the district. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees all P&L and budgeting as it pertains to the account
- Maintains excellent relationships with the client
- Works with the team to create nutritious, high-quality food for students
- Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams
- Acts as a liaison between Chartwells, the client, and the community
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of the dining services operation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Management, Hospitality, Culinary, or Nutrition preferred; additional food service management experience
- Three or more years of food service management experience
- K-12 dining experience preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Financial acumen with strong business intuition
