Summary:
The Plant Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all manufacturing operations at the facility to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership across production, maintenance, quality, safety, and continuous improvement, while driving operational excellence and meeting cost, delivery, and performance targets. The Plant Manager plays a critical role in developing talent, fostering a culture of accountability, and aligning plant operations with company objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and direction for plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, safety, and logistics.
- Ensure achievement of production goals related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
- Develop and execute operational plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with business objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements; promote a strong safety-first culture.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing leadership team; support workforce planning, performance management, and succession planning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, HR, and corporate leadership to support plant and company initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee capital projects, equipment reliability, and facility improvements.
- Foster positive employee relations and maintain effective communication across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including significant experience managing plant or site-level operations.
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and cost control in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams at all levels of the organization.
- Strong financial and business acumen, including budgeting and P&L responsibility.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and manufacturing performance metrics.
- Able to work on-site in Muscle Shoals, Alabama
