Brief Job Description:
The Logistics Platform Solutions Manager is responsible for the strategic management, acquisition, deployment, sustainment, and operational readiness of logistics platforms supporting mission requirements across aerial, ground, maritime, cyber, and space domains. This position provides leadership and oversight for platform lifecycle management, ensuring systems remain mission capable, properly supported, and available for operational and training activities. The Logistics Platform Solutions Manager serves as a key liaison between operations, logistics, maintenance, and customer stakeholders to ensure effective platform employment and sustainment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the acquisition, provisioning, deployment, operation, and sustainment of logistics platforms supporting mission requirements.
- Oversee platform support activities across aerial, ground, maritime, cyber, and space-based environments.
- Coordinate platform availability, readiness, and utilization to support operational and training objectives.
- Develop and implement lifecycle support strategies to maximize platform performance and mission effectiveness.
- Monitor platform performance metrics, sustainment requirements, maintenance activities, and operational readiness indicators.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve issues affecting platform deployment, availability, and operational execution.
- Coordinate with maintenance, operations, logistics, supply chain, and technical teams to ensure continued platform support.
- Manage platform support documentation, readiness reports, maintenance records, and sustainment plans.
- Ensure logistics platforms comply with applicable policies, procedures, contractual requirements, and operational standards.
- Develop recommendations regarding platform modernization, replacement, procurement, and sustainment initiatives.
- Support strategic planning efforts related to logistics platform capabilities and operational requirements.
- Lead readiness reviews, sustainment planning meetings, and customer briefings.
- Establish and maintain relationships with government customers, vendors, and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and provide guidance to logistics, operations, and platform support personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Minimum of 11 years of experience in logistics, operations, platform management, sustainment, supply chain, military operations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex systems or platforms across multiple operational environments.
- Strong knowledge of lifecycle management, logistics planning, sustainment operations, and readiness reporting.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams supporting operations, maintenance, logistics, and technical activities.
- Proven ability to analyze operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and logistics, maintenance, or asset management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic operational environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Prior military leadership experience or experience supporting Department of Defense programs.
- Experience managing aviation, maritime, ground vehicle, cyber, or space-based platforms.
- Familiarity with lifecycle sustainment planning, integrated logistics support (ILS), and asset management principles.
- Experience supporting deployed, expeditionary, or OCONUS operations.
- Program management or logistics certifications such as PMP, DAWIA, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to: bending, reaching, climbing, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds.
Work Environment:
Generally, work is conducted in an inside office environment, but may also involve some outside work depending on the task. The inside environment may be in an office or cubicle with close quarters, low to moderate noise, and bright or dim lighting. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including warm and cold climates and while on travel.
