ProCare Therapy is seeking multiple Special Education Teachers for school-based contract positions with a local school district in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We are currently hiring for several full-time openings across a variety of grade levels and educational settings. Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, helping them reach their academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals. Candidates will work closely with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to create and maintain an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

PreK Special Education Teacher
K-2 Self-Contained Special Education Teacher
Middle School Resource Teacher
Gifted Specialist Classroom Teacher
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Provide direct instruction based on student needs and learning goals
Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to support diverse learners
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, service providers, and families
Collect and maintain accurate progress-monitoring data and documentation
Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions
Support students' academic achievement, behavioral development, and social-emotional growth
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Ensure compliance with all district, state, and federal special education regulations
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
Active or eligible Alabama Special Education Teaching Certification
Previous school-based experience preferred
Ability to work onsite for the full school year
Strong classroom management, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Experience working with students across various disability categories preferred
