The Head Master is seeking to appoint an outstanding Social Worker to join the pastoral and safeguarding provision at Brighton College Al Ain. This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate, highly skilled professional to contribute to a supportive, collaborative and forward-thinking environment that places pupil wellbeing at the heart of College life.The successful candidate will be an experienced and reflective practitioner with a strong foundation in social work and safeguarding practice, and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues. They will provide high-quality individual and group casework, delivering timely assessment, intervention and support to promote pupils’ social, emotional, behavioural and mental wellbeing, and to remove barriers to learning.Pastoral care and safeguarding are central to life at Brighton College Al Ain, and the Social Worker will play a key role in supporting pupils across the College, working closely with teaching staff, pastoral leaders, senior leadership and external agencies to ensure coordinated and effective support. The role includes early intervention, case management, contribution to child protection processes and active participation in safeguarding and behaviour structures.The role requires a highly organised and professional practitioner with a secure understanding of safeguarding legislation, child protection frameworks and best practice in social work, within both international and Abu Dhabi contexts. The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, communicate sensitively with families and maintain accurate and confidential records is essential. Applicants must hold a recognised degree in Social Work (or a closely related field) and be eligible for, or willing to obtain, a Department of Community Development (DCD) licence to practise as a Social Worker in Abu Dhabi. Experience working with children and families in a school or child-centred setting is highly desirable, as is familiarity with UAE safeguarding and regulatory frameworks.The successful candidate will demonstrate empathy, resilience and a strong commitment to professional development, alongside the interpersonal skills required to work effectively within a diverse international community.
