Job Description

We’re seeking a Lead Communications Technician to act as the on-site coordinator and crew supervisor for voice and data installation projects. This role ensures job completion according to quality and safety standards while maintaining team efficiency. Ideal candidates have experience managing crews and working in telecommunications or construction environments.

What You’ll Do

• Supervise and coordinate crews on major voice and data installation projects
• Ensure adherence to company and customer safety and quality guidelines
• Conduct weekly safety meetings and provide performance feedback
• Coordinate with Project Manager to maintain productivity and budget compliance
• Complete all required project paperwork accurately and on time
• Perform quality checks and prepare red-lined as-built drawings
• Serve as the main on-site customer contact and attend construction meetings
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as needed

What You Bring

• Minimum 3 years of experience in telecommunications or related technical/construction field
• At least 6 months of supervisory or managerial experience
• Ability to interpret blueprints and project documents
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project)
• Knowledge of universal communications color codes
• Ability to terminate fiber and use standard telecom tools
• High school diploma or GED

Nice to Have

• Experience with ISP projects and structured cabling
• Familiarity with rack and stack, punchdowns, and troubleshooting

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Montgomery, AL.

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
