Medical Front Office Receptionist

This position is ideal for someone who is professional in their communication, confident in handling patients with care and empathy, and committed to providing an exceptional first impression from the moment patients walk through our doors.
We are looking for candidates with a strong work history, excellent customer service skills, and at least 2 years of stable medical front office experience.
What You’ll Do:
As the first point of contact for our patients and families, you will play a key role in creating a warm, organized, and professional patient experience.
Responsibilities Include:
- Greet and check in patients with professionalism and compassion.
- Serve as the primary information resource at the front entrance.
- Answer and manage high-volume phone calls professionally.
- Schedule appointments and assist physician schedulers.
- Verify and update insurance and patient demographic information.
- Assist patients with new patient paperwork and appointment preparation.
- Collect co-pays and patient payments.
- Reconcile daily cash collections and run end-of-day reports.
- Respond promptly to emails, phone calls, and internal messages.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
- Address patient and family questions with patience and professionalism.
- Communicate effectively with providers and staff in a team environment.
- Assist with additional front office duties as needed.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of medical receptionist or healthcare front office experience REQUIRED.
- Consistent employment history is strongly preferred.
- Experience with medical terminology and insurance verification preferred.
- Oncology or specialty practice experience is a plus.
- Experience with Medisys preferred.
- Experience with Webchart.
- Strong computer and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well within a team environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to work onsite in Birmingham, AL.
