The Optometric Technician plays a vital role in supporting optometrists by performing essential patient screenings and technical tests. This position works closely with the optometrist and front desk staff to ensure efficient patient flow and accurate data management. The role involves direct patient interaction primarily focused on visual acuity testing and other diagnostic procedures, utilizing specialized optometry equipment and software systems.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient screening and visual acuity testing
- Manage patient scheduling and coordinate with front desk staff
- Accurately enter patient data into electronic health records (EHR)
- Operate general and advanced optometric diagnostic equipment
- Collaborate directly with the optometrist to support clinical examinations
